Private Pay
Even if you have insurance, there are significant advantages for some people when they pay for counseling out-of-pocket. The primary advantage is confidentiality.
If you use your insurance, we are required to provide a diagonsis code. That code becomes a part of your health record. While we are conservative in our diagnoses, it is still better in our view to avoid it if possible. This is especially true in the case of children.
Insurance companies also have the right to session notes and intake information completed by their providers. While we have never had any of them ask us for any of this information, it could happen.
Out of pocket medical costs are, in-part, tax deductible.
Our private pay per office session rates are as follows:
- Initial Intake Session $125*
- Family Therapy......... $110
- Couples Therapy.......$100
- Individual Therapy.......$90
- Support Groups............$45

Payments are due at the beginning of each session.
Payments may be made by personal check (made out to Bill Jacobs LPCC) or cash.

One-Time Discount with Online Intake Form
In order to streamline the counseling process, we have an online intake form you may fill out before coming in. This form is stored on our secure server and is completely confidential.
If you choose to fill out this online form, you will save us all a significant amount of in-session time. We offer a one-time $25 discount if you opt to use the online form.
If you do not fill out the Online Intake Form, we will fill out an intake form during the first session.

Insurance
We are on the provider list of Presbyterian Health Insurance.
If you use your Insurance, your co-pay is due at the beginning of each session.
Because Presbyterian does not provide a discount for filling out our online form, we can't offer it if you are using your insurance. But it will still help us save time, which will also save you money.
If you have insurance but it is not Presbyterian, you might be able to use your insurance if they accept out-of-network providers.

Medicaid
Bill Jacobs LPCC does not accept Medicaid.

We accept credit cards as the only form of payment for Internet Counseling.
