Even if you have insurance, there are significant advantages for some people when they pay for counseling out-of-pocket. The primary advantage is confidentiality.
If you use your insurance, we are required to provide a diagnosis code. That code becomes a part of your health record. While we are conservative in our diagnoses, it is still better in our view to avoid it if possible. This is especially true in the case of children.
Insurance companies also have the right to session notes and intake information completed by their providers.
Out of pocket medical costs are sometimes, in-part, tax deductible.
* See Counseling Intake Form below to obtain a $25 discount on the Initial Intake Session.
Payments are due at the beginning of each session.
Our rates depend on a number of factors. Please call to get a quote, or our current fee schedule can be found in our Counseling Agreement.
Forms of Payment
We accept cash and credit cards, fees due at the beginning of each session.
We accept the following insurance sources:
- Presbyterian Health Plan
- Presbyterian Centennial Care
- New Mexico Health Partners
- Molina Health Plan
- Molina Centennial Care
If you use your insurance, your co-pay is due at the beginning of each session, in cash or by credit card.
If we are not listed as a preferred provider with your insurance company you still might be able to use your insurance if they accept out-of-network providers. Most insurance companies reimburse clients at 50-80% for out-of-network providers. Call your insurance company to learn what they will do for you.
